Hi it's Yohei here. There is only 3 weeks until this year's FUJI ROCK!! How is your preparation going? There's nothing like the exciting feeling of walking towards FUJI ROCK gate after arriving at NAEBA. Have you rehearsed it in your dreams? It's hard to sleep when you think about it.
Today I got some good news for those who are going to FUJI ROCK this year or still considering even those who can't join this year. It's from GANBAN record shop in Shibuya.
On Friday, July 19, a week before FUJI ROCK ‘02, GANBAN NIGHT - an event familiar to some of you FUJI ROCKERS- will happen again! The shindig is titled "Fuji Rock Festival'02 eve festival in TOKYO"!! and will take place at Shinjuku LOFT starting from 24:00!!
Live Performance by rookies
Let me start with the schedule. One of the bands which is going to play at
FUJI ROCK's Rookie A Go-Go this year will perform at this eve festival a
week ahead! The scheduled performances are for...

as well as JET MARIE GO-AROUND
I assume that the rookie bands are the happiest to perform at FUJI ROCK this
year. I think there are many people who still don't know their names. Also, the rookie bands are still closest to the audience side,
although they are performing at FUJI ROCK. Let's celebrate these 2 bands
at FUJI ROCK by experiencing their performance before the actual day at this
eve festival.
The FRF'02 big preparation tournament!?
And among these performances the main event of this eve festival in Tokyo this year will be the GANBAN DJ TEAM who will gear us up for FRF'02 by playing all the artists performing at FUJI ROCK this year. It should be an interesting mix. We might experience a mellow, CHITOSE HAJIME song and then raise the roof with RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS. Listening to INOUE YOSUI at a club is pretty interesting, isn't it? There are still some artists that haven't been announced yet, and I am wondering: will their songs will be played at this event? Although it is all in my imagination so far, it is an unbearable plan for those who are going to FUJI ROCK this year, yeah?
And when the DJ plays, they will have a huge screen to show the name of the
artist and song title. In short, if you come to the event you will know all
the FUJI ROCK 02' artists and their music in one night. For example, did you know that Blackalicious plays an old school hip hop which is produced by the coolest DJ, DJ Shadow? Also, did you know that YONIN BAYASHI are called the PINK FLOYD of Japan? It seems that we can listen to all these lesser known artist's music. This makes it easier to plan your live schedule, also you won't miss the greatest performances.
The last documentary festival
This year's FRF '02 eve event will be the last place for the FUJI ROCK documentary festival. They are planning to show a secret film from last year 's FRF. You can only see it here with a big screen and a monitor at the bar space. That is, they will show last year's FRF on the big screen, and at the same time, they will play this year's FRF music with the artist's name and the song title.
Isn't this a great event for those who can't wait for another week? You can see the atmosphere of FUJI ROCK in Naeba, but you can hear the music of this year's artist. This event might create FUJI ROCK illusions for some people a week early. Especially for those who are going to FUJI ROCK for the first time this year, that documentary is enough to help you get an idea of atmosphere of FUJI ROCK!!
FRF Merchandise
 Maybe you don't have to line up for long to get the official goods. GANBAN is going to bring as many official T-shirts and GANBAN x FRF '02 W name items as they can to this event. Moreover, they might be selling only a few "FUJI ROCK MEMORIAL ZIPPO"!! For this, 100 zippos were produced, but only 40 were sold at the shop It's a collector's item sort of thing. They will sell the part for the staff at this event. I don't know where the GANBAN staff got it from, though you should definitely get one!! Also they are planning to sell CD's of the FRF'02 artist, so if you hear it and like it you can get it there.
It's not an exageration to say that FUJI ROCK will start from this eve event in Tokyo!!! See below for detailed time and place.

 And here is some good information from the FUJI ROCK official shop on the first floor of Shibuya Parco where GANBAN is as well.
They will start a pre-sale to avoid the long line at the official goods tent on the actual festival day!! For now, the main items will be T-shirts only...

Other than that, the official shop sells artist CDs which are only available as imports. Here, as you can see by the photos, they place the pamphlets ,posters, timetables, passes, and T-shirts from the past FUJI ROCK. Also ,they are playing the passed FUJI ROCK videos or this year's performing artists. And they have a board in which they will announce the additonal artists.
These goods will be sold from July 18. Since the illustration and detailed

Incidentally, the official shop is selling tickets at their location only. keep in mind that they cannot be purchased by telephone.
It's only one more week until FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL'02 officially kicks off, and one more week to get a taste of the event beforehand. We ORG staff will also go to the eve event in Tokyo, so let's have fun then. And start packing your bags, folks. The time is a-comin'!!!
