Hmm...You must be about the same age or a little younger than me if your son is 17 years old. Well, whatever....I'm pretty envious anyway. Or I should say that the number of families going to the festival has been on the rise since changing the venue to Naeba. It'll be great to get more of this age-group along, then we can make FRF into a rocking good time for all ages - expanding the music and entertainment so that even kids can enjoy themselves.
So, here's the experience report from Chabie-san. How many of you have had similar kinds of experiences? Let's keep those reports rolling in. The word count should be roughly between 400 and 1000 Japanese characters (or 180-450 words in English). Please title it "FRF report" and send your email to ORG-master.

---------------------
Well, well, the artist line-up for 2002 is finally out. I've been looking forward to this announcement as I can't stay around for the whole three days of the festival and have to choose which day I should go.
I've been hitting FRF since 1999 - this year will be my third time. The first time I went I got to see Primal Scream. I went with my 17 year old son, hoping to experience a festival something like Woodstock.
I cried when I saw Primal Scream under the night sky. But I have to admit I did feel sorry for my son and his friend who had to carry heaps of camping gear up to the site.
Last year, of course I went to see Neil Young! This time I took my socond son, 13 years old, as well to give him some insight into the musician I had been into since high school. And it went off! I just wanted him to get a feel for Neil's music. To be honest, although I was one of the ones who signed to get Neil Young to come to Japan, this was almost beyond my wildest dreams.
And this year, I still can't make up my mind. Prodigy, Muse, The Chemical Brothers (I saw their show at the Tokyo NK Hall) and Pet Shop Boys! Yosui Inoue is wicked too. Spiritulized seems nice. Shibusa Shirazu will be back in Naeba again... Oh boy... but don't get me wrong, I'm producing squeals of delight. So I'm going to enjoy this for a while.
Lastly, I'd like to thank all those working hard to make FRF happen. I hope the festival will be full with happiness again this year - taking on the imagination of rockin' kids from all corners of the globe.
