  • rockers' train!
  • Here's some details for the rocker's train from SMASH WEST. This info is from Nanbu-san for the Kansai area Fujirockers who had their wish of a train to Naeba come true. They are still working out the details, but we will keep you informed as new information isavailable.

----Fuji Rock Festival is right around the corner. ----

The plan has finally been made for
the "The Fuji Rock HOSHIZORA (starry sky) Train",
which departs from KANASI and arrives ECHIGOYUZAWA directly, non-stop.
Details could change, so check this site often.

As of now, the times are as follows:

    On the way to FRF

Departing: Thursday, July 25 SANNOMIYA at 22:30-ish
OSAKA at 23:00-ish and KYOTO at 23:30-ish
Arriving: Friday, July 26 ECHIGO YUZAWA 8:00 a.m.

    On the way back

Departing: Monday, July 29 ECHIGO YUZAWA 1:00 a.m
Arriving: Monday, July 29 KYOTO 9:00-ish
OSAKA 9:30-ish, and SANNNOMIYA at 10:00-ish

(the exact timetable will be decided 2 weeks before the actual departing day.)
Fee: \23,000 (including tax and two way ticket / mailing fee is not included)
    Seat availability: 400 seats only
Details for applying (including hotel information) were announced on the Japanese version of this site on Friday, May 10.

Thank you for your great ideas on naming the train. Every idea was cool. However, because Naeba's starry sky is now linked to the Kansai area, and we wanted to share the pre-Fujirock-evening festival, we decided on the "Starry Sky" name. We are also hoping/expecting there to be new encounters and romance on the train, so we wanted to give it a dreamy name. Thus, "HOSHIZORA (starry sky) train", (even if it's a little out of fashion. If you don't like it, well, call it whatever you like.

Because of concession and other related fees, an extra 1,000 yen has been added to the price, bringing it to 22,000 yen. We want to make it as cheap as we can, so please forgive us. Nippon travel agency or Kanasi PIA, the two companies receiving all the orders, recieve no benefits from helping us out. As a matter of fact, Nippon Travel will lose money if they can't get at least 300 people. We really appreciate their help, even if it's risky. Thank you so much.

Moreover, booking with a group is greatly appreciated. We can guarantee your group getting seats together if number of people in the booking is not over limit. In the train, have fun, but remember to be courteous. We will also secure a place for those who want to sleep peacefully. We will try to make most of your requests possible.

And, the pre festival at CLUB KARMA on the departing date, July 25, will go on as planned. We're planning to open the doors at 6:00 p.m. and after seeing videos of the FUJI ROCK artists and DJ's, we're gonna head toward to Osaka station. We are now suggesting a plan to headquarters to hold a pre-sale of pamphlets and official T-shirts. Also, we're searching for a possibility to hand out the wrist bands, Z-card when you get on the train, and a special gate to enter the meeting place (FUJI ROCK). When it's decided, we'll let you know as soon as we can on this web site.

The details for booking will be announced here on Friday, May 10. Those who answered the questionnaire will receive the information from SMASH directly. Thank you for waiting such a long time. We need your help and understanding to make the idea "FUJI ROCK close to you?!" possible from now on.

    (SMASH WEST Nambu Yuuichi)

    --------------------------

So, the people who answered the questionnaire will receive the information from SMASH, but those who haven't answered it and need information could email the following:train@fujirockers.orgwith the subject title, HOSHIZORA TRAIN. When the details have been finalized, you will receive information from SMASHWEST.

Frankly, I wanted to call our train simply "fujirockers' train" and hijack the train with "rockers" (laugh). Anyhow, those who take the train are people who love Fuji rock, so it doesn't matter. I'm sure you can have a great time, and a special car will be prepared for people who want to sleep peacefully.

But more than that, we keep saying: "Let's get together, keep each other informed and help each other out through this Let's Get Together Festival". If we can get a lot of people to understand these feelings, we can all make the trip to Fuji Rock more fun and more comfortable this year.

Perhaps, those who take the train will have an experience they've never had before. I envy you guys. But there should be people who have and will experience much more than that. So, we're still accepting your experience reports. Share your great experience with people who are going to Fuji Rock for the first time. The word count should be about 180 to 450 words. Send you report to ORG-masterwith the subject "FRF report".
