Site renewal and advance ticket sales though Ganban

The long wait is almost over! The new fujirockers.org homepage will launch March 30th!

Sorry for making you guys wait so long for the website renewal. And yeah, yeah, I know this is the fourth time I've apologized, but I really, really do feel bad about the delay.

The good news is that we finally have a date for the relaunch. We will begin transferring all the data from 10 pm TODAY, but that means that you WON'T BE ABLE TO ACCESS the page for a couple of hours after that. By midnight tonight, though, when the date changes to March 30th, you WILL BE ABLE TO ACCESS the new-look fujirockers.org website!

As I said earlier, there won't be many changes to the content, except for dumping the Rockers Poll. It's like we are just making the website more snappy and snazzy. Also, as we promised, we will resume access to the Fuji Rock Express archives from previous years. This means that you will be able to access all the reports from '97 through '99, the How To Survive and Have Fun section we created for rockers attending the festival for the first time, and the People section from FRF '00. However, we still need a little more time to finish modifying the reports from FRF '00, but we will resume access to these files as soon as possible.

We will be creating a new BBS called the MUSIC BBS, where you can talk about your favorite artists and music. The BAND BBS is not meant for this kind of discussion, but rather for requesting one band you really want to see at the Fuji Rock Festival.

    A possible treat from Taisho!

Yesterday I went to see Taisho and asked him to add a message to the new-look website. These days he's sooo busy commuting back and forth to Naeba and having meetings everyday, but even so he said, "Okay, I might send you a hot, fresh scoop." That means we should get the name of a pretty great artist. If you know this artis, it will be great news! But if you don't, don't worry - personally, I can tell you that if this artist is confirmed, they will add a fantastic flavor to the festival.

In addition, Org-camel will give us some information about the Festival site situation. Naeba is still covered in snow and there are few things we know about the site as yet, so please sit down, relax and wait. This year, Taisho is thinking about adding fun activites for children and bringing in a circus. All you guys need to do is get a posse of friends together to share the cost and start daydreaming about a heavenly weekend in Naeba.

Finally, just a quick reminder to rockers who live in Japan: At 11 am on April 1st, Ganban, a rockin' record store in Tokyo, will start exclusive advance sales of tickets! If you buy your ticket at Ganban, you will also receive some official FRF goodies for free! If you can read Japanese, please check out the Ganban website at http://www.ganban.net/. The shop is located in the basement of Quattro Parco in Shibuya, Tokyo (you can find a map here).
