The restaurant, FBI, is a place where charcoal burners run hot as they serve up your main dishes. The shop also has an appearance that makes me feel like saying: "Ola, Amigo!" when entering.
"The F.B.I. stands for Fire Bird International", says the owner, Mr. Tokuda, " That's because we have YAKITORI, spit-roasted chicken and lots of people from various countries get together here". You can enjoy Argentine wine in this somewhat cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Mr. Komiyama of "JAPONICUS" worked on having this store open a shop at FUJI ROCK. He is a Nisei, an American of Japanese descent and thinks that he should be proud to be Japanese. And in order to introduce Japanese Rock to overseas and to introduce overseas Rock -including Argentine music- to Japan, he is dealing with various projects.
Now, one item on the FBI menu for FUJI ROCK is the Argentina-style barbeque, "ASADO." This is beef, pork, and rum which is roasted crunchy by the charcoal fire with a spicy sauce called CHIMICHU using fresh minced vegetables called SALSA CURIOJA. This is seriously delicious.
Since the meat itself is so delicious, you can still eat without the sauce. It is such an Argentina food because they completely know "How far we can take the flavor." Also, check out the thick and heavy home-made "CHORISO" sausage! Moreover, they are going to serve cool slice tomato, salad and Argentine wine goes well with these meat dishes.
"Homemade CHORISO has a deep taste", says Mr. Komiyama, " The music of MANU CHAO is the same. A deep meaning is transmitted from the songs of MANU, even if it is simple".
The simple, basic food of Argentina with MANU CHAO. A toast is given to this coupling to experience thoroughly with a glass of Argentine wine!
Management of Fermin Muguruza Dub Manifest which performed at FRF'01 is based on Mr. Komiyama. You can see their performance under "Pics" from GreenStage/29.
