When abroad, you might have experienced a sudden desire for "soul" food - rice and miso-soup for Japanese, spicy curry for Indians, and maybe pasta for Italians.
The same thing happens to Brits, and it seems they cannot get by without their "soul" food. Jane has lived in Japan for 18 years and her "1066 Catering" has been well received at various artists' party, including the Stones and Clapton on their visits to Japan.
Usually, her shop offers food for reception parties at companies and embassies, but she's going to set up her "1066" British food booth again at FRF this year. So, what does celeb British "soul" food taste like?
Crispy fried fish with french fries - the famous "Fish and Chips," seasoned with vinegar, salt and Ketchup to suit your taste. There will be two kinds of traditional "Cornish Pasties," one beef and mushroom and the other chicken.
And you can have beer that will definitely match these dishes. Manchester brewed "Boddingtons," known as the "Cream of Manchester" from its creamy head. Nice! Can't wait to taste it!!
The completely UK styled food goes well with "any kind of UK music," Jane says. A member of Stereophonics came and ate at her booth at the last FRF, so maybe you can find UK artists there who are suddenly attacked by a craving for some "soul" food.
