Tamio Okuda rocks 'em red [1999.7.30 14:59]
When Tamio Okuda left his former band, the Unicorns, Japanese music industry critics said he'd never make it on his own. And the reason: because they didh't think he was handsome enough. How wrong could they have been - Tamio is dead cute and his fans adore him.
Waiting for Tamio to hit the stage was tense with excitement. Dragonflies buzzed overhead as security guards huddled in a group discussing how to manage the moshers and roadies tweaked the stage gear. Then, very quietly, Tamio walked on stage and the roar of the crowd sent shivers down my spine. The audience screamed and surged, the moshing began, and Tamio delivered a hard-arsed rock'n set.
