FRF '99 Green Stage

Cerebral fallout [1999.7.31 21:00]

THERE IS NO CAUSE FOR ALARM.

WE REPEAT

THERE IS NO CAUSE FOR ALARM.

We are simply under the sound effects of the Chemical Brothers' sonic bombardment.

This is only a mindshag, mutliplied by multimedia and the phattest beats to bottom out Fuji Rock's woofers.

Hidden by a massive stage-stretching bank of equipment, the Chemical Kyodai don't really attract much attention to themselves, except for the occassional fist pumped in the air, and a silent scream to the audience.

It's about losing yourself, your sanity, your equilibrium in the waves of sound. This is the rave scene writ large. Ken Ishii and the Orb will alter more minds in the dance tent, but they won't have the opportunity to rock on such a monumental scale. We're talking about a sonic boom, large enough and hypnotic enough to shag the minds of anyone within a 5k radius.

Oh yeah, the songs. They pleased the crowd by kicking off with their latest hits ''Hey Boy Hey Girl'' and ''Block Rockin' Beats,'' soothed them in tecnho ambience, and then took us into one sound warp after sound warp.

Your minds are now free my children. Let your asses follow.
